God is building hope.  Build with us.

Project Introduction

God has blessed House of Prayer with a magnificent location in Elizabethtown with plenty of land to expand our mission and build a “Hope Center” for our community. When House of Prayer was established in 1966, who knew the plans God had for this place or why He would choose to bless us with a large lot and plenty of room to grow. Perhaps it was His plan all along to bring us to the present time to bring people in our community together.

As we look to the future, we envision expanded ministries at House of Prayer which offer classes in life skills such as parenting, financial assistance, household budgeting, health and nutrition, job preparation and others to support and equip people of the community to deal with the challenges of everyday life situations. We see the awesome opportunity God is providing us to build an addition on to our church where everyone can come and experience the love of God poured out through the Holy Spirit. The “Hope Center” will be a community meeting place offering encouragement and joy for living. It will be a sanctuary of hope and healing; a place where all can experience Christ’s love.

An improved facility will enable the congregation to focus on worship, teaching, and fellowship. Guests who come to House of Prayer will find a comfortable environment where they can focus on learning to relate to God and to others. These physical improvements to our church will help us to conduct an effective ministry where we are equipped and enabled to share Christ’s love and good news with the people whose lives we touch. Our new church facility will include a functional dedicated nursery, and be able to support dynamic youth and adult education programs in a space that is warm, inviting, and accessible to all.

Your participation in “Building Hope” is very important. We ask for your prayers and financial support as House of Prayer builds a “Hope Center” for our community.

How can you help?

Your First Step: Pray

Sacrificial giving usually requires us to move outside our comfort zone and stretches our faith as we give beyond our normal gifts. Please make the amount of your gift a matter of daily prayer, seeking to find what God wants you to give.

Your Second Step: Discuss

Families should take time to discuss this matter and seek God’s guidance together. Children should also have a part in deciding the amount to give. This is a journey for everyone.

 Your Next Step: Commit

It is vital that everyone in our church faithfully seeks God’s guidance about what they should do and then express that faith in a financial and prayer commitment. This journey we are on will only become reality through the sacrificial commitments we make.

We ask you to pray about and join in seeking God’s direction for your involvement in taking the next steps. Nothing will stretch you and grow your faith like the joy of sacrificial giving of the gifts God has given you. Remember, we walk by faith, not by sight. God promises our success when we walk with Him.

What does the future hold?

Our Plans

  • Improve the church facility to make it safe, welcoming, and accessible to all
  • Create a new multi-functional entrance hall that is welcoming and orienting and provides direct access to the sanctuary, fellowship hall and the education wing
  • Build a dedicated nursery adjacent to the sanctuary and class/meeting rooms
  • Create a functional sacristy for altar preparation
  • Create a facility to support a viable youth program that involves all member youth and attracts youth from the community by creating a larger, safe, comfortable space for youth ministry
  • Increase flexibility in classrooms for different uses
  • Relocate and improve office space in order to provide a more effective office environment
